One-Stop-Shop Turns One!
The month of September marks the one-year-anniversary of the consolidation of services forming the Development Services Department (DSD). On Friday, September 15, join the staff of the One-Stop-Shop as they celebrate their first year of providing service as a single operation on the fifth floor.
The Development Services Department is a multi-department team dedicated to enhancing customer service throughout the development process. The mission of this newly merged entity is to assist land and building development needs from conception to completion. With customer convenience in mind, five city departments previously staggered have been consolidated to serve as ONE Development Team. The One-Stop-Shop of DSD now functions under three core divisions:
- Building Permits & Inspections
- Customer Service and Business Center
- Planning
Highlights of the department's first year of operation include:
- Initiating with the scanning of documents in Building Permits & Inspections, The DSD Paperless Initiative is a phased initiative ultimately turning the floor into a paperless operation
- A representative from the City-County Health and Environmental District is now available on the floor providing assistance with health permits
