El Paso International Airport Ranks Among the Top Ten Airports in J.D. Power and Associates 2006 North American Airport Satisfaction Survey
J.D. Power and Associates reports El Paso International Airport ranks 9th in their 2006 North American Airport Satisfaction Study. On June 29, 2006, J.D. Power and Aviation Week released their 2006 North American Airport Satisfaction Study. The study quantifies overall airport satisfaction measuring eight factors: airport accessibility, check in/baggage check, security check, terminal facilities, food & beverage, retail services, baggage claim and immigration/customs.
El Paso International Airport received an over-all satisfaction index of 704 (out of 1,000), which ranked number nine among all North American airports surveyed. The highest over-all score was 722, which was New York's La Guardia Airport. The El Paso score of 704 varied less than 2% from the high score of 722 for New York's La Guardia Airport.
"We are pleased to see El Paso International Airport among the top ten airports measured in this survey and consider this a compliment to the entire airport community, including our Airlines, Transportation Security Administration, airport custodial and maintenance teams," said Patrick Abeln, Director of Aviation. "Although the recognition is a good milestone, we still have additional public services planned. These include a doubling of our long term parking spaces this fall, the addition of airline self-ticketing kiosks in the main lobby and a substantial increase in terminal space for food & beverage, news & gifts and restroom services by the end of 2007."
Of the small airports surveyed (under 10 million passengers), El Paso ranked number 5 behind Dallas Love, Houston Hobby, Orange County and Southwest Florida.
