Neighborhood Services: Neighborhood Leadership Academy
The Neighborhood Leadership Academy is a 16-week public education course for non-traditional leaders that will take place in the fall of 2006. The City of El Paso will facilitate a curriculum that will introduce and explore a variety of services offered by applicable city departments.
The goal of the Neighborhood Leadership Academy is to produce a viable leadership pool at the grassroots level. Participants will gain valuable knowledge and skill sets that will enable them to participate at a high level within city government. Participants must be 18 or older and not have served on a city board or in an elected office. The Neighborhood Leadership Academy is an opportunity for residents to learn how to become effective stakeholders in the community. The NLA is a program of the Neighborhood Services division within the Community and Human Development Department. For enrollment information, contact Mark M. Alvarado, Neighborhood Services Liaison, at 541-4918.
