Parks and Recreation Department Closing Soccer Fields
This will allow Soccer fields to be refurbished for seasons starting in September
The City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department will be closing eleven different fields in the City for the summer months to better serve the public during the upcoming soccer and football seasons in the fall.
The fields and locations that will be closed until September 1, 2006 are:

"The fields being closed are the soccer and football fields only," says Doug Barnes, sports manager for the Parks and Recreation Department. "All other open space areas including baseball and softball fields of the park will remain open," he added.
These closures, are in conjunction with turf management experts from the Texas Extension Agency and will allow the parks maintenance staff the opportunity to make repairs, replace turf and allow the fields to recuperate from soccer season.
