It is Never Too Early to Start Reading to Children!
The
El Paso Public Library's program, I'm Learning - Estoy Aprendiendo,
is just one way parents can start their children off on the right
foot. The program offers parents the chance to get the child's first
library card. It also provides a large and specialized collection
of books and materials for infants and toddlers available for checkout.
Many of these resources are bi-lingual and are designed to stimulate
children's learning queues from 0 - 3 years of age - a time when
children learn more and faster than any other time in their development.
The American Academy of Pediatrics says that parents should make reading to their infants a daily activity. By utilizing the many resources and services the library provides, parents can ensure that their children succeed in school and in life. To remind parents of this important fact, the library will provide each infant that gets a library card a free baby t-shirt that says "I'm Learning / Estoy Aprendiendo".
