City Moves One Step Closer to the New Butterfield Trail Golf Course

Recently, the City Council awarded Arrow Building Corporation the contract to construct the Club House and Maintenance Facilities for the new El Paso International Airport Butterfield Trail Golf Course.

The 8,800 sq.ft. clubhouse will be completed in the spring of 2007, combining natural stone and native materials, and will be the finest Municipal facility in the Southwest. The City has development plans with the golf course - the facility acting as a magnet for increased tourism as well as economic development to the area.

"With a known completion date for the golf course and with the award of the club house contract, we now have all the parts needed to offer a complete package to a potential hotel operator," stated Patrick T. Abeln, Director of Aviation, El Paso International Airport.

City Moves One Step Closer to the New Butterfield Trail Golf Course Along with the City's Department of Economic Development, the Department of Aviation is working toward attracting a first class resort hotel with conference capabilities that will be located adjacent to the clubhouse.
