Development Services to go Paperless

Digital Information will now be available in Development Services Transactions

As of Monday, May 1st the Building Permits & Inspections Division (BP&I) of Development Services initiated the first stage of becoming a paperless operation. All new issuances will now be digitally captured to provide faster and more efficient documenting capabilities. Customers of BPI in need of scanned official documents will be able to attain copies quicker or can be emailed upon request. This process will assist the department in supplying information in a timely and efficient manner. Information now instantaneously available includes:

On December 31, 2005 the newly structured Development Services Department opened its doors to a one-stop-shop on the fifth floor, consolidating Building Permits & Inspections, Planning and a portion of the Engineering Department into a single department in an effort to revitalize customer service in these areas. The scanning process in Stage 1 of this initiative is another component of the Department's commitment of streamlining productivity while providing increased customer service.
