Silver Anvil Award Winner
The Public Relations Society of America Rio Grand Chapter of El Paso presented Camille Salcido, Sun Metro Marketing and Customer Relations Coordinator, with a Silver RIA Award October 25, 2006. Sun Metro was recognized for its Summer Fun Pass Public Relations Campaign designed by Salcido and Lonnie Tapscott, Sun Metro Graphic Designer.
The Silver Anvil, established by the Public Relations Society of America in 1946 to symbolize the forging of public opinion, is annually awarded to organizations that have successfully addressed a contemporary issue with exemplary professional skill, creativity and resourcefulness.
Silver Anvil Awards recognize complete programs incorporating sound research, planning, execution and evaluation. They must meet the highest standards of performance in the profession.
The PRSA Rio Grande Chapter is a group of area PR professionals and their supporters committed to bringing PR professionals together to foster professional growth, networking, and to exchange ideas while promoting the profession to the community.
PRSA is the world's largest organization for public relations professionals. Its nearly 20,000 members, organized into 112 Chapters, represent business and industry, technology, counseling firms, government, associations, hospitals, schools, professional services firms and nonprofit organizations.
Chartered in 1947, PRSA's primary objectives are to advance the standards of the public relations profession and to provide members with professional development opportunities through continuing education programs, information exchange forums and research projects conducted on the national and local levels.
