    Zoo Café Greenware

“Greenware is the sustainable cup alternative, delivering positive economic, social and environmental advantages.” -Fabri-Kal Company

Zoo Café GreenwarePICK UP A CUP AT THE CAFE or some tableware and you’ll find that you are actually picking up corn. Sounds funny, eh? Corn?! Yes, the cups, knives and spoons you use in the Grasslands Café are made from PLA - a resin derived entirely from USA corn. These new utensils are manufactured by the eco-friendly company Fabri-Kal and are called Greenware. The cups and flatware will be absorbed back into the earth, as they are 100% compostable and environmentally sustainable. So, next time you grab a fork for your lunch in the El Paso Zoo - eat in good conscience – you’ve gone “green.”
