New Neighborhood Traffic Management Program
As part of the initial stage of program implementation, the Traffic Engineering Division is now accepting applications for consideration under the new Neighborhood Traffic Management Program (NTMP).
The City Council recently adopted a Neighborhood Traffic Management Program targeting solutions to residential traffic concerns within city limits while simultaneously providing opportunities to enhance neighborhood livability and aesthetics. The compilation of several community meetings and research derived from national best practices has created a comprehensive and customized program designed to address objectives to include:
- improving unsafe conditions
- incorporating community preferences into design and operation of neighborhood streets
- providing a program that is responsive to all neighborhoods
- providing protection and relief from disproportionate increases in traffic
Do you have a traffic concern in your neighborhood? The Traffic Engineering Division is now accepting applications for consideration. Please note all applications will be rated competitively and the deadline for submittal of the first cycle of funded projects is June 1, 2008.
