Events at Eastwood Recreation Center - 3001 Parkwood - 629-7312
On March 30, the Eastwood Recreation Center will have a Fashion Show from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to expose the after school programs at the Center to the world of fashion. An after school project to teach self awareness, self esteem and pride in one's self is also part of the ongoing classes at the Center.

Events at Nolan Richardson Center at 4435 Maxwell St.
Nolan Richardson has an after school program that is being run in conjunction with Americorps members that meets Monday to Fridays from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. The ages for participation are 6-16. The children participate in various activities such as arts & crafts, board games, sports, field trips, special events and cultural activities. Americorps members also help the children with their homework.

Registration is now taking place for Flag Football. The league is in two separate divisions with a 6-8 year old division and a 9-11 year old division. The fee is $30 per child and includes a T-Shirt and a trophy. Games will begin in April and volunteer coaches are always needed.

Nolan Richardson Center is now taking registration for mini T-ball for ages 4 to 7 years. Games will be played on Saturdays the month of April and May. Fee is $30.00 per child and includes a baseball cap, t-shirt and a trophy at the end of the season. The league is always looking for volunteer coaches.

The center will host many Easter activities on April 7 that are open to the public. An Easter Egg Hunt will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and a cookout at 11:00 a.m. The Center will also have a cook-out from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. All activities are free.

Registration is ongoing for Classical ballet for ages 6-12. The class is scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and the fee is $20 per month.

Events at Memorial Park Senior Center - 3200 Federal - 562-4260
Free Income Tax preparation is available at the center on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 -3:00 p.m.

The Memorial Park Senior Center also has Art classes with Embossing from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesdays only. The classes are $10 a month and participants must buy their own materials.

Events at South El Paso Senior Center at 600 S. Ochoa
The South El Paso Senior Center will have a rummage sale at 9:00 a.m. on April 5 and 19.

The Center will also have a Jueves Alegre on April 19, which is a commemorative event held each year at the center.

Registration is ongoing at the center for T-ball, Indoor Soccer, and basketball. Classes being offered include Ninjutstu on Monday, Wednesdays and Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for beginners and from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for advanced classes on the same days. Each class is $25 per month.

Dance Aerobics are offered on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The classes are $25 per month.

Belly Dance Classes are on Tuesdays and Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and are $25 per month. Ballet classes are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The classes are $25 per month.

Registration is ongoing for participants in a Kick Boxing Aerobics Class that will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. Classes are open to individuals six years to adults and is non-contact. The monthly fee is $20. The class will help with general fitness, self-confidence, flexibility, and to improve your self defense.

A Kickboxing Fighting Class will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm. This kick boxing class is high-intensity and helps improve balance, flexibility, coordination, endurance and self-defense. It is open for ages 6 and up and the monthly class fee is $20.

San Juan Recreation Center has a multitude of events coming up. The center, which also has a senior center next door to the facility that is currently undergoing renovation, has taken on the added task of incorporating senior activities with those for the area youth and adults.

The center is also home to a great weightlifting area and steam room that is available daily for only $15 a month. The center is also open for rentals for special occasions or events.
