The Pet Care-A-Van is a mobile van operated by the City of El Paso Department of Public Health’s Animal Services, which provides free spay and neuter surgeries, low-cost microchipping and rabies vaccinations.
Did you know that more than 18,000 dogs and cats are euthanized in El Paso each year due to irresponsible pet ownership and pet overpopulation? Animal Services is committed to promoting and protecting the health, safety and welfare of pets in El Paso County but we need the community's help to do it. By having your dog or cat sterilized, you will do your part to prevent the birth of unwanted puppies and kittens. In addition, spaying or neutering does more than help solve the problem of overpopulation. It actually protects pets from many health problems and helps them live a longer, happier life.
Hours for spay and neuter surgeries are from 7:00 am to 12:00 noon. Times for microchipping and rabies vaccinations are from 12 noon to 2:00 pm. Pets may drink water up until the time of surgery, but should not have solid food after 8:00 pm the night before spaying/neutering.
Fees:
Rabies vaccination, registration, and microchips together will cost only $32.
Rabies vaccine is $9.
Registration is $8.
Microchipping costs $15.
