Bike Lanes: On the Path to Comprehensive Mobility
With the recent completion of the new bike lane featured along Rushing in the northeast, the City Council direction to become the lowest car dependent City in the Southwest continues in motion.
As part of the Transportation Policy Plan incorporated in the Council Strategic Plan, the expansion of existing bike lanes in the Bikeway System and the creation of new bike paths were highlighted as a mechanism to convert the city into a less car- reliant community. The following areas citywide feature over 110 miles of bike paths available for public use:
