    Museums and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD) Announces Call for Applicants for FY2009 Cultural Funding Program

    The Museums and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD) announces the availability of funds for FY 2009. Programs provide funding to assist in the development of El Paso’s cultural organizations, artists and the creative sector, to promote and support arts and cultural activities for El Paso residents and visitors.

    The City of El Paso is committed to the continued development of the city’s arts sector to provide quality programs that are representative of the city’s diverse cultures. MCAD provides opportunities for individual artists to participate in the municipal funding process and promote the arts and cultural organizations to enhance the city’s cultural vitality.

    Guidelines and applications will be available on-line at www.elpasotexas.gov/mcad/ after February 1, 2008. Guidelines Books are also available at MCAD, 2 Civic Center Plaza 1st Floor, El Paso, Texas 79901. In addition, MCAD will offer two workshops on February 20th from 9-11am and again from 5:30-7:30pm at City Hall in the 10th Floor Conference Room. The purpose of the workshop(s) are to discuss the funding guidelines, criteria and application process for FY funding. All new applicants or those not funded in FY 07-08 must attend a workshop.
