2007 was a remarkable year highlighted by the significant collective and individual accomplishments of the men and women at the El Paso Police Department who proudly serve the city of El Paso. The year ended as a year of transition and change but, the already established foundation for a strong police department will allow us to move confidently into 2008 as we continue our efforts to protect and serve the community. We at the Police Department officers, civil service staff, and community volunteers will continue to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics and personal integrity as we fulfill our mission to preserve life, to enforce the law and to work in partnership with the community to enhance the quality of life in the City of El Paso".

2007 Major Highlights:
- City of El Paso ranked as the Second Safest City in the U.S. for the second consecutive year.
- The El Paso Police Department is recognized by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
