In celebration of the Resler Canyon's preservation, the Coronado Neighborhood Association will be holding a dedication ceremony Saturday, January 28, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. on the Canyon rim (east off Resler at El Cajon Street, on Maricopa Dr.)
The event will honor those involved in the historic and successful effort to save Resler Canyon and to help raise awareness and funding for the Frontera Land Alliance, the non-profit trustee for Resler Canyon and the new Wakeem/Teschner Nature Preserve. The program of speakers will include philanthropist Professor Richard Teschner; Maria Trunk, president of the Frontera Land Alliance; a senior executive of the Hunt Corporation; City Representative Beto O'Rourke; and the Honorable John Cook, Mayor of El Paso.
A reception at the Coronado Townhouse Clubhouse will follow the dedication ceremony, giving attendees the opportunity to meet Charlie Wakeem, Dr. Richard Teschner and others involved in the preservation effort. The clubhouse is a three-minute walk from the dedication site. Please join in on the festivities.
