      COL John C. Hopkins will relinquish command to COL Geoffrey A. Whittenberg.

    • NAMI El Paso will be hosting a NAMI Homefront Class starting on the evening of January 20 at the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors.
      This is a free 6-week program for family, friends and significant others of Military Service Members and Veterans with mental health conditions. It focuses on the unique needs of military and veteran communities, such as post-deployment and post-discharge transitions. The course is designed to help family members understand and support their loved one while maintaining their own well-being. The trained facilitators of this course are also family members who have experience with military culture and know what it is like to have a loved one living with mental illness.
      Class will be held on Mondays at 5:30pm-8:00pm at the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors, 1390 George Dieter Dr. Ste. 140, El Paso, TX.

Mission Statement

joint services color guardTo provide a voice to the city of El Paso leadership on all matters pertaining to the El Paso Veteran and Military Community.  To be an advocate for Veteran affairs and Veteran Support Organizations' initiatives while maintaining a strong relationship between Fort Bliss, the City of El Paso, and our Veteran and military community.

Purpose

The Division of Veteran and Military Affairs will be a liaison between the City of El Paso, Fort Bliss and other outside agencies, including but not limited to, federal, state and local Military organizations.  The office will provide guidance, direction and coordination of Regional Military Issues and Veterans related issues.
General Duties: 

  • Serve as a Liaison for the City's Veteran Affairs Committee, Departments, Community Organizations, Businesses and Media to publicize services. Advise and assist Veterans in matters pertaining to their rights and benefits under law. 
  • Respond to requests for information and provide guidance on eligibility and entitlement requirements for federal, state, and local Veterans services, programs or benefits.
  • Counsel advise and explain to the City's large Veteran population current laws and regulations for federal, state and local Veteran's services, benefits and / or programs.
