Neighborhood Associations

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Purpose

To provide a standardized recognition policy for El Paso neighborhood associations that will improve communications between the associations and city government.

A Neighborhood Association is an organized group of residents who work together to represent the interests of their neighborhood.

Resident participation and input is vital to successful neighborhood planning.

Through the Neighborhood Recognition Ordinance we will work to strengthen existing Neighborhood Associations and assist in the formation of new Neighborhood Associations, particularly in underserved and low income neighborhoods.
