Emergency Shelter Grant
The City receives from HUD an annual Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) which is administered by the CD Grants and Program Administration division of the Department of Community and Human Development. The goal of the ESG Program is to direct funds for the homeless so that these persons have access not only to safe and sanitary shelter but also to the supportive services and other kinds of assistance they may require to improve their situations.
