For people with disabilities, the Department of Community and Human Development Housings Division offers grants of up to $3,000 to install equipment or make construction changes to help someone in the home who has a disability. These grants are also available to assist the fragile and elderly.
The Accessibility Grant need not be in conjunction with any other rehabilitation/reconstruction activities if the dwelling unit is in compliance with the International Codes as adopted by the City and provided that the household is determined to be income eligible
