Getting to Work, Getting Involved

  • Think twice before letting the next piece of litter get out of hand. Toss it in a trash can or recycling bin.
  • Encourage others not to litter and to keep their homes free of trash and code violations, such as junked vehicles, overgrown weeds and open storage.
  • Report any illegal dumping to the City of El Paso Environmental Services Department at 774-4500 or to the El Paso Police Department by calling 832-4400 (the police non-emergency number) or 911.
  • Ask your school, business or community to participate in recycling and clean up efforts.
  • Organize your own cleanup.
  • Keep your lids to your trash bins closed. It can help reduce wind-blown litter.
  • Make sure your truck bed is empty or the load it’s carrying is covered before you drive.
  • When you throw something away, make sure the trash can isn’t too full. We want to prevent the trash from spilling out. (Remember, you can always take it home and throw it away later).
  • Keep a litterbag handy in your car.
  • Choose to buy things that can be recycled.

Let's Get to Work Pledge

I will get to work to clean up El Paso.
I will not litter.
I will pick up trash when I see it.
I will comply with the City Code and will report violations.
I will recycle.
I will encourage others to do the same.
