The International Bridges Department manages the city's parking meters, most of which are located downtown. All on-street City parking meters are active and require payment from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Sundays and official City holidays).
RATES AND PAYMENT
Payment is required at all City parking meters Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily with the exception of the upcoming meters in the Uptown District, which will require payment Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight. The fee to park at a meter is 50 cents for every 30 minutes or $1.00 per hour. All meters accept quarters, dollar coins and credit card or the pay by cell app, Park El Paso.
CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS
All City of El Paso parking meters accept Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards. There will be a $0.03 service charge for payments made by credit card (Visa and MasterCard).
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Insert the card fully into the diagonal card slot with the magstripe on the card facing up on the diagonal slot on the meter and remove the card quickly. Use the up and down arrows to change the amount of time desired on the meter. NOTE: By default all credit card payments will automatically charge $1.00 for the first 1 hour of time. Then press OK to confirm payment. Wait for the transaction to process.
Park El Paso, the pay-by-cell application, provides motorists with the added convenience of being able to pay for parking at a meter or to remotely add time to a parking session using a smartphone app. It also eliminates the need for motorists to carry coins and sends users a warning five minutes before their parking time expires.
The Park El Paso app is free and available for download on Android and Apple devices through the Apple App and the Google Play stores. Park El Paso will allow users to pay for parking with a credit or debit card. For more information, visit http://parkelpaso.com.
MALFUNCTIONING PARKING METER
All efforts are made to ensure that all parking meters are working properly however, if you see a malfunctioning or broken parking meter, it would be most helpful to report it to the International Bridges Parking Division office at (915) 212-7500 during office hours, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or call 311 during extended hours or submit the following information through the website or 311 app:
If a parking meter fails to provide the proper time, please relocate to a working parking meter.
