El Paso Museum of Art
Scheduling a Tour
EPMA offers free tours of the permanent collection and changing exhibitions in English and Spanish. Tours are designed to offer your group the opportunity to discover and discuss the special qualities, history and ideas behind works on view. When scheduling a tour, teachers may include time for sketching or writing assignments in the galleries.
To schedule a tour, contact the Education Department at 915.532.1707 at least 3 weeks in advance. Please be advised that available tour slots for major exhibitions fill quickly; schedule as early as possible to insure the best possible Museum visit. School tours require one chaperone for every 10 students.
Conducted by trained docents, guided tours can highlight works from all the galleries, focus on a special exhibition or concept, or be tailored to the specific interests of your group. Guided tours are available for 10-50 visitors, 3rd grade level and above.
Self-guided tours allow your group to explore the galleries at your own pace, using special expanded didactic labels on works throughout the Museum. Self-guided tours are available to all age levels, for groups up to 100 visitors. Please schedule in advance to avoid overcrowding in the galleries.
Look & Do Tours
A gallery tour focusing on a specific technique, media or concept is followed by a related hands-on art activity in the Museum's classrooms led by Museum School faculty. Look & Do tours are geared towards K-8th grade levels, for groups of 12-35 visitors. Please schedule early as limited number of slots for this program are available each school semester. Fee is $15.00/visitor; school groups receive a reduced fee of $10.00/student.
