The EPMA Binational 2008 juried exhibition will take place at the El Paso
Museum of Art and the Museo de Arte in Juárez. Two artworks will be selected
by each artist included in this exhibition. One artwork will be exhibited at
the El Paso Museum of Art and one will be exhibited the Museo de Arte in Juárez.
All visual art media may be included in this exhibition.

ELIGIBILITY
-The exhibition is open to all artists within the geographic area shown on
the map (18 years or older)
- Entries must have been created within the last 12 months, and cannot have
been exhibited in the last year
- At least two works of art MUST be submitted
- Entries must be original in concept, design, composition and execution. Artwork
cannot have been created under the supervision of an instructor. Artwork must
not be copied, in part or in whole, from any published/copyrighted work
- The Jurors will be solely responsible for the content of the exhibition and
the jury decision will be final. Multiple entries of any artist may be accepted
at the discretion of the Jurors
The Binational Art Competition has now opened up the competition to
all employees of the City of El Paso effective immediately. Please note, however,
that all deadlines remain the same.

del Municipio del Paso. Recuerde, que la fecha limite sera la misma.
MEDIA
Artwork of the following media will be accepted, painting , sculpture, drawing,
print making, photography, video, installation.
No living animals or materials that do not meet the A.A.M. standards for collection
management will be accepted.
JURORS
Ruth Fine
Curator of Special Projects in Modern Art at the National Gallery of Art, Washington,
DC. Fine is the lead author of Mark Rothko: The Works on Paper, a multi-volume
catalogue raisonné projected for publication by the National Gallery
in 2010. As the curator of modern prints and drawings at the National Gallery
from 1988 through 2002, Fine organized exhibitions of work by American artists
including Helen Frankenthaler, Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein, John Marin, and
Georgia O’Keeffe.
Luis-Martin Lozano
Art Historian based in Mexico City. Lozano has written extensively about Mexican
Modernism, focused on the work of Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, María Izquierdo
and Remedios Varo among other Mexican masters of the 20th Century. A Fulbright
scholar, Professor Lozano has been guest curator for all major museums in Mexico,
and worked on projects with fine art museums in the U.S., Spain, Germany, Japan,
Canada, Italy and recently China.
