Welcome to Animal Services, where we strive to be proactive and offer programs to the community that promote the proper care of animals, while also combating pet overpopulation.
Our staff provides information on pet vaccinations, registration, adoptions, fostering, community cats, volunteering, pet retention, as well as, spaying and neutering opportunities. We also enforce laws related to animals and investigate reports about loose, stray, sick or injured animals, bite incidents and animal cruelty.
We operate the City’s Animal Shelter located at 5001 Fred Wilson. We encourage you to check our kennel hours to pick up lost animals, to adopt pets, and to drop off unwanted, sick or injured pets. Please be aware that all impounded animals without proof of rabies vaccinations, registration, or microchip must have the service done, as required, at the owner’s expense before the animal will be released to the owner.
Our lovable dogs and cats are adoptable for $30 seven days a week at the shelter, and can be even lower during special adoption events.
