WINNERS FOR DESIGN COMPETITION!

Winners of the Binational Arts and Culture District Design Competition are as follows:

Dodson Family Merit Award of $2500 was awarded to TEAM 3317: University of Texas at El Paso

Nestor A Valencia Merit Award of $2500 was awarded to TEAM 1311: School of the Art Institute Chicago

Creative Cities Leadership Honor Award of $7500 was awarded to TEAM 2356: Independent team, Berkeley, CA

Learn About Our Judges
Goal:

• To civically engage young creative citizens in our region to become excited about the transformation and collaboration of the downtown potential of our border cities.

• To challenge people to think more broadly about the unique bi-national opportunities and challenges in the El Paso Region and to spark interest in the potential economic development that can be tapped by our borders working together.

The design competition will be binational with an emphasis on outreach to UTEP and universities in Ciudad Juárez. We will recruit departments such as engineering, art, architecture, urban planning, history, and business to incorporate this as a project into their curriculum.
