  CULTURAL AFFAIRS ADVISORY BOARD
Duties:  The Cultural Affairs Advisory Board (CAAB) acts in a general advisory capacity to the Department of Museums and Cultural Affairs (MCAD). The mission of the Museums and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD) is to assist in developing a world-class arts community in El Paso, Texas. The CAAB provides review and recommendation of policy development and programs including funding programs, public art programs, arts education and community arts development, marketing and cultural tourism initiatives, performing/visual arts programs and other Non-Museum departmental matters
Qualifications:  Nominees shall demonstrate an interest, knowledge of, or experience in the following areas and professional fields: Performing, Visual, Literary Arts, Media, Art Education, Architecture or Landscape Architecture, Visitor Industry, Community Non Profit Sector (non-arts), Marketing and Public Relations also Organizational or Strategic Planning. Nominees shall submit a written statement to the City Manager / designee detailing the requisite interest, knowledge or experience.
Seats:  12 Members: 1 per District; 1 by Mayor; 1 each elected by History Museum Advisory Board, the Art Museum Advisory Board and Archaeology Advisory Board to serve a term of 3 years. See Ordinances: 6163, 9980, 11469, 11533, 11903, 16196 and 16764.
Term:  Two, 3 year terms
Term Limits: Two term limit.
