Community Arts Program (CAP)
Think outside the box! MCAD oversees the Community Arts Program (CAP), bringing visual and performing artists into El Paso classrooms and community spaces for free educational workshops and performances. In fiscal year 2007, CAP served over 30,000 El Paso students and citizens with interactive artist-led sessions and residencies.
CAP works to engage the interests and knowledge of your audience with a diverse roster of programs. Let a theatrical troupe help bring Shakespeare alive for visitors of all ages or explore the world of Latin American song with professional musicians and much more.
To learn more about the program, and to find out how to qualify as a Community or Classroom Host, email Arts & Education Programs Specialist Ben Fyffe at fyffebe@elpasotexas.gov or call 541-4899. The Community Arts Program receives support from the Texas Commission on the Arts.
