Dear Constituency,

It is an honor and a privilege to serve as your Mayor. I am humbled given the opportunity to serve you as Mayor for a second four-year term. I invite you to navigate through this website to find out about my activities and projects around the El Paso community.

I strongly encourage you to take an active role in your government by staying informed and voicing your opinion. I would like to remind you about my once a month Meet the Mayor Day where I open the doors to my office and set aside time in my schedule to talk to the constituents about any matter that is important to them. I also encourage you to sign up to receive my monthly newsletter to stay abreast with the latest developments in the City of El Paso.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

El Paso, Texas- February 11, 2010- On February 12-14, 2009, the Texas Municipal League (TML) will hold it’s Annual Elected Officials Conference in El Paso at the Camino Real Hotel. The City will welcome over 125 elected officials representing various cities throughout Texas. The Texas Municipal League provides services to Texas cities that include representing the interests of member cities before state and federal legislative, administrative, and judicial bodies at the state and federal levels and alerting member cities to important governmental or private sector actions or proposed actions which may affect city operations.

Mayor Cook became a member of the TML Board of Directors as a director-at-large in 2005 and served as president-elect in 2008. As of October 31, 2008, Mayor Cook served as the TML president for 2009 becoming only the 3rd Mayor from El Paso to serve as president of this influential organization.
