Community Meetings: Military Regional Growth Management Plan
As planning efforts targeting the anticipated expansion of Fort Bliss continue as a critical priority, the creation of a Regional Growth Management Plan (RGMP) is a key component in proactively addressing the opportunities and challenges expected with the implementation of the Base Closure and Realignment Commission (BRAC). The City has retained the services of a top ranking firm, SAIC, to develop a RGMP that seeks to closely evaluate areas to include:
- Existing Conditions Assessment
- Future Land Use
- Circulation and Traffic
- Public Utilities and Infrastructure
- Education
- Health and Social Services
- Public Safety and Emergency Services (Fire, Police, Ambulance)
- Quality of Life
In keeping with this vital initiative, the Development Services Department in conjunction with SAIC, will hold a series of community meetings to elicit comments from the public prior to the plan development to receive local input regarding Fort Bliss Expansion. All interested individuals are encouraged to participate.
