August may be over, but the celebration of women in aviation continues. Thursday, November 12th Didi Shaffer returns to the El Paso Museum of History to tell the exciting story of the Women Airforce Service Pilots. Didi will take us back to WWII and show how women were recruited to fly missions considered not important enough for male pilots. Didi Shaffer is a local pilot and current president of the 99’s, an organization founded by Amelia Earhart and given that name as a result that ninety-nine women attended the first meeting.
